Tracer Tape acts as a low density heater extended over complete length of pipe line or surface to be heated. Its flexibility makes it suitable, particularly, where bends, valves and flanges are to be negotiated.
The tapes are manufactured and tested strictly in accordance with BS 6351 and has been type tested by government test house. The tapes are normally supplied to work at 230V but can be designed to work at any lower of higher voltage if desired.

Constant Watt Parallel Resistance (CTL) tracers are designed to deliver a constant power throughout the length irrespective of working temperature.
CTL tracers consist of nichrome wire heating element wound on two silicon rubber insulated copper bus conductors. Contact of heating element with bus wire is maintained at a specific distance by removing insulation for a short length. An overall silicon rubber sheathing is provided as electrical insulation.
Parallel resistance feature makes it suitable to be used for any length up to 200 Mtr. CTL type tracers are extensively useful for heating cold storage doors and pipe line heating.

SLSR heat tracer consists of an irradiated carbon film between two copper bus conductors. Any increase in temperature of the tape increase the resistivity of the carbon film, thus reducing the heat generated per unit length. Any change in product temperature or variation in ambient temperature will change the energy input to the system. Thus it is able to regulate the energy when and where it is needed.
As the heat output at any point depends upon temperature at that point, there is no possibility of ‘Hot-Spot’ or burn out of tracer. Self-regulating cables are flexible, can be cut-to-length in the field and can be single overlapped without fear of burnout in areas where complex piping and equipment require additional heat trace cable.
